New Orleans. until her Embrace, november 2020.
Jessica “Jessie” Malone was born into a working-class family in Abita Springs, Louisiana, on March 1, 2001. Her father was an Irish-born worker at the local brewery and her mother a second generation Welsh moonlighting waitress to pay off the multiple debts her father left them after abandoning them shortly after she was born.
Jessie's childhood was somewhat traumatic due to the bullying she suffered at school and her mother's apathy towards her. Her mother would be addicted to stimulants to keep up with her work. Only the moments she spent at her grandmother's house and the piano lessons she received from her in summertime kept her going.
All of her frustration and anger built up from her during her early school years and later in high school made her a withdrawn and fearful person. This would change with puberty, even being the focus of the practical jokes of her classmates because of her red hair and freckles, she discovered that the ink of her tattoos would be her escape valve. She became friend with a local tattoo artist and he began to practice with her, doing her first tattoos on her skin. This was a shock: those who had hated her until then began to feel attracted to her, which she took advantage of to exact her revenge on them.
At 17, fed up with the situation at school and with her mother, she decided to leave her hometown and for a year she traveled the country living off precarious jobs and spending almost everything she could save on more tattoos, alcohol and drugs. Finally, having just turned 18, she landed in New Orleans, where a stroke of luck made her meet Caroline Murphy, the manager of an antique shop on Royal Street. They soon became friends despite the age difference between the two, but a few days later, her boss, Ambrose Readmore, hired her as support for the store. Caroline thinks of her as a little sister and has learned that Jessie cannot be cut short. She knows how to appreciate her efforts and her ability to attract tourists to the store.
Jessie lived in a small apartment in Bywater with 3 other friends, college students and party animals like her. Jessie met Miriam, her future Mawla, one night in August 2020, when she was about to be run over near the Bourbon Orleans hotel and Miriam saved her. The spark between them almost instantly. Miriam, a Lamia of clan Hecata and high priestess of the local Bahari cult began to gently introduce her to the teachings of the Dark Mother Lilith. They would soon be lovers, teacher and disciple.
Jessie disappeared on Halloween night 2020 after being in a party at the “Asylum Circus”. Her boss, Richard Ambrose Readmore, and some allies were looking for her and managed to find her in an abandoned mansion on a plantation on the banks of the Mississippi. She was kidnapped by a Ba’ham Nosferatu, Balthazar, obsessed with finding his beloved Bethzabel (redhead like her) and make her a Kindred and a strange ritual so that she would be with him forever after resurrect Bethzebel in Jessie’s body. Of course, this failed, as it failed since 2005 when the Katrina Hurricaine flooded and killed her lover…
In the course of the rescue, Jessie received very serious injuries that would cause her death. Miriam the Lamia offered Ambrose to Embrace her in the face of his refusal, but she was not allowed.
Shortly after, Jessie's body disappeared from the mansion and the house was set on fire the next morning. Readmore along with his Coterie companions Tony Couch, "Reflexes", Lafayette and Stephanie Tran followed the clues they found to find her corpse... Finally they found her in a hut at the swamps near Baton Rouge, Miriam asked for a series of favors so Baron Cimitière of the clan Hecata Samedi bloodline resurrect her body and later she managed to convince Ambrose to Embrace Jessie, when she awaked she accepted her new condition.
She now shares her time between her work at Readmore's antique shop (and her studies of Tremere Blood Sorcery) and her teaching with Miriam in the Bahari cult...
